Actuellement en éruption, le Stromboli est un volcan toujours aussi actif en Italie. Les explosions de lave incandescente qui ont lieu régulièrement depuis le cratère sommital ont valu au Stromboli le nom de "phare de la Méditerranée". En réalité, le Stromboli est en éruption quasi-constante depuis plus de 2000 ans.
D’origine volcanique, les îles Eoliennes en Italie comprennent sept îles : Lipari, Panarea, Vulcano, Stromboli, Alicudi, Filicudi et Salina. Les Italiens ont appris à vivre avec les volcans. Le Stromboli est en éruption quasi constante et le Vulcano, bien que moins actif, n’est qu’en sommeil.
Les îles Eoliennes
Le peuplement des îles Eoliennes a pris naissance vers le Ve millénaire avant notre ère. L’archipel devint alors un important centre d’échanges entre l’Occident et l’Orient. Ces îles constituaient une précieuse réserve d’obsidienne, une roche volcanique qui, polie et taillée, servait dans l’Antiquité à la fabrication d’armes et d’ustensiles.
Les premières civilisations établies sur les hauts plateaux du Lipari prospérèrent grâce à cette ressource.

Vers 580 avant notre ère, les sept îles furent conquises par les Grecs. Ils les consacrèrent à Eole, le dieu du Vent. La légende dit que Ulysse y accosta. Eole lui proposa les vents pour lui permettre de regagner son pays. Mais, les marins ouvrirent les outres dans lesquelles se trouvaient les vents.
Cette légende est révélatrice de l’importance de cet archipel dans l’histoire de la Méditerranée antique.
Les Romains pensaient que l’île Vulcano, île dont dérive le mot « volcan », abritait les forges de Vulcain, dieu du Feu et du Travail des métaux.

Les géologues étudient toujours ces îles. Elles se seraient formées, il y a environ 10 000 ans, à la suite d’une série de violentes éruptions volcaniques. Les îles ont une superficie de 1 216 hectares.

La faune comprend 40 espèces d’oiseaux, surtout des migrateurs. On trouve également 7 espèces de chauves-souris et le lézard des Eoliennes (Podarcis raffonei) qui vit exclusivement sur Vulcano.
Les Eoliennes sont devenues un but touristique au milieu du 20e siècle quand Roberto Rossellini y tourna Stromboli avec Ingrid Bergman. Les 10 000 habitants se consacrent entièrement au tourisme. Actuellement, ce sont 200 000 visiteurs qui viennent chaque année passer leurs vacances sur les îles volcaniques.
Les îles Eoliennes sont inscrites au Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO.
L’île de Vulcano
Au pied de Vulcano s’élève le village de Piano del Porto. C’est la plus grande des îles Eoliennes avec 376 hectares. En 1891, Giuseppe Mercalli, connu pour avoir donné son nom à une échelle de mesure de l’activité sismique, définit pour la première fois le phénomène éruptif du type dit « vulcanien ». Le terme apparaît alors qu’il étudie l’éruption de Vulcano en 1888-1890. C’est la dernière éruption de ce volcan.
Fossa di Vulcano comporte deux cratères: Fossa I et Fossa II qui est le cratère actuel d'un diamètre de 500 m sur 200 m de profondeur. By Upyernoz
Il s’agit d’une émission de type explosif, qui projette dans l’atmosphère des fragments de lave. Ces fragments ne prennent pas une forme arrondie au cours de leur trajectoire parce qu’ils sont déjà partiellement refroidis. Les éruptions vulcaniennes peuvent être violentes et éjecter scories et cendres. La colonne éruptive peut monter à 10 ou 20 km de haut ; les cendres sont répandues sur de vastes zones.
Les dépôts de cristaux de souffre sont fréquents sur Vulcano
Bien que n’étant qu’une petite île, Vulcano est composé de quatre complexes volcaniques qui se sont développés ces 120 000 dernières années. Ce complexe comprend une combinaison de sources chaudes, de bain de boue et de fumerolles. Les vulcanologues contrôlent en permanence les gaz émis par les nombreux fumerolles.
Stromboli
La petite île de Stromboli est un volcan actif qui s’élève à 3000 m du fond de la mer. C’est l’un des rares volcans toujours en éruption. La dernière s’est produite en 2003. Mais, en février 2007, le Stromboli est à nouveau entré en éruption. Les éruptions de 1919 et 1930 ont fait plusieurs victimes.
Le volcan est entré en éruption le mardi 27 février 2007, rejetant de la lave dans la mer. Les autorités ont émis une alerte. L'île avait été quasiment évacuée début 2002 après l'écroulement de roches dans la mer qui avait soulevé une immense vague autour du territoire.
En mai 2008, après l'Etna, le Stromboli a de nouveau donné des signes d'activité.
Il est actif depuis au moins 2 500 ans. Ce volcan a donné son nom à l’un des principaux types d’éruption « les éruptions stromboliennes ». Ces éruptions sont des successions d’explosion « spasmodiques » bien distinctes, de quelques secondes, projetant des matériaux pyroclastiques dans l’air, à une distance relativement courte.
La pression gazeuse élevée fragmente le magma dans la cheminée. Cependant, comme des gaz s’échappent souvent, aucun nuage éruptif important ne se développe. Son activité se limite à de brèves éjections explosives de fragments de lave incandescente, rarement à plus de 150 m.
L'activité strombolienne se manifeste quand le gaz contenu dans le magma s'accumule jusqu'à faire sauter le "bouchon" qui obstrue son orifice. By Martienen Hanneke

Lipari
L’activité volcanique sur cette île est due à la subduction de la plaque africaine sous la plaque eurasienne. On peut voir des poches de magma profondes qui produisent de nombreuses fumerolles. Les sondages indiquent des températures allant de 200°C à 650°C. Cela s’accompagne d’un afflux croissant de gaz et d’une expansion thermale créant de nouvelles fissures.

François Dumeaux aka druc drac, is a well versed and talented producer. François studied acousmatic music composition between 2002 and 2006 in the Bordeaux Music Academy. druc drac also has a solid background in other electronic styles, such as acid techno, hard core and techno per say. He began his journey in the psychedelic world in 1995. Since 1998, druc drac produces psytrance but also idm, electrodub, ambient and experimental noise music. He played live and released records alone and with some bands in a few musical style (free improvisation, traditional music, electronica, electrodub, etc.). Les Êtres De L'Abîme EP is a total composition masterpiece, filled with various ambiances, rhythms and bass leads.
